Palmeiras' sporting director is currently meeting Real Madrid to finalise the transfer of Gabriel Jesus as Zinedine Zidane's side beat Barcelona to his signature, reports Globesporte.
Madrid have seen off their Clasico rivals in the chase for the 19-year-old touted as the 'new Neymar', with the Champions League winners set to pay his buyout clause of €24 million.
In doing so, Madrid have won a race featuring Barcelona as well as Inter to be the club to bring Gabriel Jesus or The New Neymar to Europe, as Palmeiras director Alexandre Mattos has landed in the Spanish capital.
A time and venue is yet to be confirmed for negotiations to begin but a deal is thought to be close, with Madrid ready to leave him at Palmeiras for an additional season to gain experience.
